Quick sidenote: This is blog post #600 … just over two weeks shy of CMP’s 3rd birthday! Okay, back to regular programming now!

Its that time of year … the one that every kid dreads and every parent eagerly anticipates … back to school time!

So to commence the start of homework, recess, naptime (do they even give that to kindergartners anymore?), and library visits, here’s a recent schoolgirl themed portrait session with Miss TyAnne …

The morning we held Ericka & Alicia’s session (along with Miss Carly previously featured here), it was so hot and humid that we were melting by the end. Thanks so much to them (and their parents) for being such troopers!

And if you need a great hairstylist … their mom, Pam (she’s at Classy Cuts in Athens), is super awesome! She’s the only person I trust (and can get my unruly wavy/curly hair stick straight with only a flat iron and dryer, no styling products)!

Sweethearts | Tyler Texas Family Photographer

These three ladies have graced the CMP website before … first Tracy’s maternity session and later Miss L’s newborn session last spring. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, these three ladies participated in the January Serendipity Session date held in Tyler.

Sweet and protective big sister … I’ve never seen a big sister give her little sister so many kisses as Miss M did to Miss L over the course of their session!

Love those little cheeks!

Look at those blue eyes! She is gonna be such a heartbreaker one of these days!

For those considering Easter portraits, now is the time to start planning and scheduling your session! I only have a limited number of mini and full session dates/time slots available between now and Easter (which is April 4th this year). The session deadline to have prints/luxe boutque products in hand for gifting is March 20th — sessions held after that aren’t guaranteed to have galleries live in time to place orders for prints to distribute at the family Easter gathering!

More sneak peeks from Miss B’s holiday session …

The plan: Miss B on the blanket. The Reality: Miss B anywhere but on the blanket. I’ll spare you the shot I captured of her pointing and giggling at her mom when we pled for her to come over and sit down

This is all Miss B. I’m kinda sad her momma didn’t choose it for the Christmas card … she looks all grown up here!

Miss B wasn’t fond of this location … we gave up and moved on … but I still love this image …

Love this image. Love her expression. Really love the bokeh. Love the vintage edit I used on it. Love the location. If you’d like a session here, book sooner than later before the owner comes along and mows it all down.

If this adorable little face looks familiar, its because its her fourth time to appear here on the CMP blog …

… and if you heart Miss B’s outfit, her momma found it at Gymboree …

I love the expression on her face!

… As typical Miss B style, she dictated how the session was gonna proceed … after the first few captures, she wasn’t gonna stay seated very long!

… or wear the hat for very long either!

Back during the summer, Brittani & Courtni’s grandmother contacted me about capturing the girls at the Arboretum for their annual portraits once the weather cooled off. Well … we almost managed that — it was a toasty early autumn Sunday afternoon instead! Along with capturing the two of them together, I also captured them individually …

Would you believe that Brittani isn’t a fan of pink?

This spot was one of my favorites that day for one reason: a much needed breeze was present while we shot here. Not so good in terms of constantly brushing away hair, however!

Continuing with TyAnne’s sneak peeks tonight … these were all captured at one of my favorite locations locally … just rarely get to shoot there!

A bit of a vintage edit with some flare … really trying to give it a wintertime feel despite the fact we were sweating from the humidity!

Some people are naturals in front of the camera … TyAnne is one of them! Just a bit of initial direction on posing and the rest is all her!

Love love love the graffiti’d quotes in the image above as well as the one below!

This last one is all her … didn’t even have to ask her to lay down!

One of the great things about entering year three of being in business is getting to capture some clients this fall for the second or third time. Recently I photographed TyAnne for the third time (in 2007 at her grandparents 30th anniversary party and vow renewal ceremony and in 2008 as the winner of the Sweet Summer Faces contest). In fact, this is one of two times this fall I get to photograph her — later this month she and her mother will grace the website together in a family session. So without further ado … here’s TyAnne at age seven …

Yes … I’m having fun with the flare in this session …
