If you’re here, you’re probably aware that I have a photography (aka business) blog that’s the homepage of this domain and a handful of others also know I have a personal blog that resides on another domain (surf around the links to the left, you’ll eventually find a link that leads to where its linked. Yeah, I’m mean like that.). So why a third blog?

Well there’s this microblogging trend called Tumblr. And, well, I like the idea of Tumblr but don’t like the design options (yeah I created and abandoned one). And I fell in love with this horizontal blog format last summer when ITDR debuted it. But the horizontal blog formal doesn’t work well for the photography biz blog. Plus the price tag of this template ran me off. Then earlier this month ITDR had a WPPI sale … and I scored this template for less than a fourth of its regular price. And I’d already overhauled the look of my personal blog and didn’t really want to switch it up again. So late at night while plugging the server info in, I decided to create a ‘semi personal’ blog … along the lines of a Tumblr blog.

So [Instamatic] … where did that come from?

Honestly, I was at a loss for a directory to install this to and it was late at night … I looked up towards the ceiling while thinking and my eyes stopped on the shelf above my workspace. One of the several vintage cameras on the shelf is a Kodak Instamatic 404 that my dad found for me a couple years ago (almost identical to one he had when they debuted back in the day). I kept trying to think up something else but my brain came back to Instamatic every time. And so it was …

No in-depth personal posts, but I’ll share stuff I come across here, things I see and love (but can’t afford/don’t need), links worth passing on, awesome pinterest type stuff (got one of those too … click here for that one), images that don’t make the biz blog, the occasional Q&A about myself, and some random thoughts.

So … with that said … check back and add the rss feed (link’s to the left) to your feed/google reader!
