A Day in the Life | Canton Texas Family Photography

A new session type (a day in the life) + a very very chilly morning (in the 20s) + one awesome family = yummy chocolate chocolate chip cookies and a fun morning by all.

Day in the Life sessions differ from the traditional portrait session in that they are documentary style instead of posed portraits. The sneak peeks I’ve chosen are the ones where Noah’s not being adorable directly at me and the camera (I have a ton of those too)!

Noah’s peeking in the oven to watch the cookies bake …

Additionally, with the Day in the Life sessions, the only lighting sources are what are avaialble — overhead lighting in your home and any outdoor lighting sources that we can open the curtains/mini blinds and let in. No flash, no strobes.

The only edits done to these images were black and white conversions (the original color images were white balanced prior to conversion). As these are ‘capturing the moment’, no retouching or exposure edits are made.

Many thanks to Scott, Melody, Charles, and Noah for yet another great session!

If you would like to capture a ‘day in the life’ with your family in lieu of the traditional family session (or as a portion of a full portraiture session), contact me for details.

Sweethearts | Tyler Texas Family Photographer

These three ladies have graced the CMP website before … first Tracy’s maternity session and later Miss L’s newborn session last spring. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, these three ladies participated in the January Serendipity Session date held in Tyler.

Miss M

Sweet and protective big sister … I’ve never seen a big sister give her little sister so many kisses as Miss M did to Miss L over the course of their session!

Love those little cheeks!

And here’s their gorgeous momma!

Look at those blue eyes! She is gonna be such a heartbreaker one of these days!

PSA:
For those considering Easter portraits, now is the time to start planning and scheduling your session! I only have a limited number of mini and full session dates/time slots available between now and Easter (which is April 4th this year). The session deadline to have prints/luxe boutque products in hand for gifting is March 20th — sessions held after that aren’t guaranteed to have galleries live in time to place orders for prints to distribute at the family Easter gathering!

Brittani | Athens Texas Teen Photographer

This red headed cowgirl probably looks a little familiar — she’s the older sister of Miss C (from of last week’s sneak peek) and was featured here last fall (their full session sneak peeks) … now here’s a few of my favorites from her holiday mini session …

This last one may look a little familiar … it was the winner of the Top 13 of 2009 contest a few weeks ago!

Miss C | Athens Texas Childrens Photographer

This little lady probably looks familiar — as she was featured here on the site in the fall. Just before the holidays we did a second mini session with her and her older sister. So this time around they’re each getting their own sneak peek post … enjoy!

All Strung Up | Tyler Texas Childrens Photographer

Okay, confession time — I borrowed the idea for the following sequence of images from a fellow photographer who I kinda blog stalk. If she just wasn’t so awesome, I may have came up with the idea on my own in another decade or two ;)

Its bad when your (then) 20 month can tie you up … and with Christmas lights, no less! Please note the words on the trailer just above Amanda’s head. Yes, this location was intentionally picked for Miss B’s exploits …

After I rescued Amanda, we attempted to wrangle Miss B into wearing the lights. She wasn’t too impressed with our idea … considering she ran away!

… and with that, its a wrap (sorry, couldn’t resist using the pun!) … more awesome session sneak peeks will resume in January!

Don’t forget to stop by starting tomorrow for the Stocking Stuffers Giveaway — I promise the goodies are worth it!
