Announcement Time | Athens Texas Photographer

Effective January 1, 2011, Christina McCall Photography will be narrowing its portraiture business focus to tweens, teens/seniors, and A Day in the Life documentary sessions.

Pet portraiture will still be available via Sit.Stay.Snap. and a very limited number of landscape/architecture commissions will be accepted each quarter.

For other portraiture session types (family, engagement, & maternity portraiture / adult anytime portrait sessions / commercial portraits), please contact me. While the business focus will be on children ages eight & up through high school/college seniors beginning in January, I will continue to schedule a very limited number of other session types, primarily during the holiday season (August – November).

As for Fall 2010 availability:

– There are three mini dates (September 25, November 6, and November 13) with availability remaining for holiday sessions (all three dates are at preselected locations) – and you can book the Mini PLUS Holiday Collection option through September 15th (unless all remaining openings are full prior to that date).

– Custom portraiture session availability as of today — I have a grand total of six three openings left from September 1st through October 24th. The Deluxe Holiday Collection option is available for booking for those six openings until September 15th (unless all remaining openings are full prior to that date).

Bump Maternity Minis – availability remains for both October 23rd and December 4th. All inclusive option (session fee + digital files + Luxe Boutique product) available at a significant savings over a la carte. And, yes, I will offer the Bump minis three or four times during 2011.

Once these mini dates + six custom portraiture session openings are booked full, my 2010 calendar will be closed. 2011 sessions will be available for booking beginning January 3rd …

So … that said, if you’ve been holding out on a family portraiture session*, are engaged but putting off engagement portraits*, or would love to have me photograph your newborn/infant, toddler, or preschooler, this fall will be the last chance to do so!

For the curious, I have already been referring out weddings to a short list of super awesome area wedding photographers for awhile now and have an even shorter list of area  infant/toddler photographers that I adore the work of and will begin referring out future inquiries to them once my 2010 calendar is full.

I know many of you may be wondering why I’m narrowing my portraiture business focus — long story short, between my full time job and running what has always supposed to be a part time business, I have no time left to pursue other non-photography personal projects/hobbies anymore or to spend time with family and friends like I should be. What fun is life when you work all the time, right? Or as a fellow photographer just blogged a few days ago, “No one on their death beds ever said I wish I would of spent more time at the office.

And as its my birthday today, I am taking a long weekend off from both the full time job and my photography business,  ignoring most forms of technology until Monday morning, getting a pedicure, and enjoying a stack of books and dvds I haven’t had time to devour. I’m well overdue for a long weekend of downtime …

*There is one exception to this — the CMP Gives Back-US Armed Forces Program. I will continue to provide family sessions and engagement/couples sessions for active duty/reservists/veterans and their immediate families year-round. Are you eligible for the program and interested in a session via the program or know of someone that might qualify? Contact me (or have them contact me)!

Happy Birthday! My birthday is tomorrow! Amen to you that you are truly going after your favorite subject matter and not doing weddings. Working full time and doing portaits is a lot of work, but crazy with weddings. Good for you!!!
