Pandora’s Box | Frankston Texas Commercial Photographer

This spring I’ve decided to debut a new feature — CMP’s East Texas Favorites. I plan to feature some *mom & pop* small businesses around the area here on the blog once a month. Along with a Q&A, I’ll also feature some images from the business to tempt you to make a visit as well;)

First up is Pandora’s Box, the coolest antiques and *junque* shop around … if you’ve ever driven through Frankston, you’ve seen it across from Lade Ford on Hwy 155; if not, get down there pronto! I assure you it is pretty easy to kill a rainy morning there (as I did recently) - and see more items you want than your vehicle will hold!

The Meet & Greet:

The What: Pandora’s Box

The Where: Hwy 155, Frankson, Texas – 903.876.5056

The Who: Patty Lookabaugh

The Mascot: Nellie (pictured below)

When was Pandora’s Box established?
July 1993 – I was designing boxes for a showroom in Dallas and her house was too small for the task, happened to know a guy who owned a building that was available. Because of my history in furniture, I had my workshop in back and furniture up front.

… and the location, what about it made it *the place* for you?
This is actually our third location — when this building became available, a former Assembly of God Church, my mother talked me into buying it. The original part of the building is over 100 years old.

Tell us a bit about yourself …
Originally from Wyoming (graduated high school in Sheridan), parents were from East Texas. My father was in the oil business. I’m slightly insane, live out in the country with my three dogs and three cats.

Any random tidbits you’d like to share …
We offer perennials six months out of the year (see a sampling below) as well as cool reproductions.

We’ve had the honor of Patrick Dempsey (aka McDreamy) and his wife stopping in twice!

Thanks so much Patty for having us in –and to everyone else, be sure to mention that you saw Pandora’s Box featured at CMP when you stop in!
