Six years ago today, the lady in the middle — my granny — passed away after a six month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. So Christmas Eve is always bittersweet for my family.

My granny always believed in giving to others. She believed if you were blessed, you should pay it forward — whether through tithing or other acts of kindness. When I went into business, I kept that lesson in mind … I’ve been blessed to pursue what I love, so I periodically surprise others with complimentary sessions and regularly contribute to charities and causes near and dear to me. Participating in Giving is Awesome is one of the ways I’m paying forward in her memory this holiday season.
