It breaks my heart to post this … yesterday morning, Kevin Till left this earth. The only comfort there is is knowing that he is no longer suffering and up above, watching over his family and getting to ride and rope, play sports, and all those dreams he had here on earth. Eighteen years is too short of a time … especially when one loses a very valiant fight waged for many years. So, tonight, hug your children, let them enjoy their childhood, call your family up and tell them how much you love them, and as Tim McGraw’s hit song is titled, live like you were dying. Because we don’t know when our time will come — and in Kevin’s memory, enjoy all those life experiences we take for granted and go after those dreams and future plans now, not later.
Godspeed Kevin … you’ve touched so many lives and we’re all blessed because of it.
Kevin Till
1990 – 2009

He said: “I was in my early forties,
“With a lot of life before me,
“An’ a moment came that stopped me on a dime.
“I spent most of the next days,
“Looking at the x-rays,
“An’ talking ’bout the options an’ talkin’ ‘bout sweet time.”
I asked him when it sank in,
That this might really be the real end?
How’s it hit you when you get that kind of news?
Man whatcha do?
An’ he said: “I went sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing,
“I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu.
“And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter,
“And I gave forgiveness I’d been denying.”
An’ he said: “Some day, I hope you get the chance,
“To live like you were dyin’.”
He said “I was finally the husband,
“That most the time I wasn’t.
“An’ I became a friend a friend would like to have.
“And all of a sudden goin’ fishin’,
“Wasn’t such an imposition,
“And I went three times that year I lost my Dad.
“Well, I finally read the Good Book,
“And I took a good long hard look,
“At what I’d do if I could do it all again,
“And then:
“I went sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing,
“I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu.
“And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter,
“And I gave forgiveness I’d been denying.”
An’ he said: “Some day, I hope you get the chance,
“To live like you were dyin’.”
Like tomorrow was a gift,
And you got eternity,
To think about what you’d do with it.
An’ what did you do with it?
An’ what can I do with it?
An’ what would I do with it?
“Sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing,
“I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu.
“And then I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter,
“And I watched Blue Eagle as it was flyin’.”
An’ he said: “Some day, I hope you get the chance,
“To live like you were dyin’.”
“To live like you were dyin’.”
“To live like you were dyin’.”
“To live like you were dyin’.”
“To live like you were dyin’.”

Kevin was a true gentleman. He was such a sweet and polite young man. He touched our lives for only a short time, but he left memories that will last a lifetime. Our family was so blessed to have know him. He brought joy to others and taught us all something about life. To treasure the little things. He will be remembered for his kindness, his smile, and his showing other respect to all he met.
Kevin was one of God’s “Angels on earth”. He had the smile of an angel and one of the biggest heart I have ever seen. He took the time to do something special for others.
The day my son, Robby, left for the state powerlifting meet in Houston in March 2007. Kevin borrowed some markers from my daughter and wrote on a girl’s car, just to make her day. She was thrilled.
Kevin taught us all a lesson about living. Make memories, take the time to make someone’s day.
Live life to it’s fullest and show kindness, love, and caring for others and you will have no regrets.
Kevin has touched more hearts and lives in his 18 years on earth and made a difference than some people do that live to be in their 80s.
Kevin’s family are in my prayers and thoughts. They truly raised a wonderful young man.
He will be missed, but he will never be forgotten.
I look forward to seeing Kevin again in heaven. Where I am sure he will still be making someone’s day “Special” and smiling that precious smile of his.
I am so sorry
I’m so sorry you’ve lost such a special person from your life – he sounds truly remarkable – hugs, x
I did not find out about Kevin untill today. I can’t believe Kevin is gone. I knew Kevin though my grandson Caleb. He lived in Caddo Mills Texas at that time and Caleb and Kevin were in the same room and got to be best friends. Kevin was at my house many times and we came to love Kevin so much. He and Caleb played Hockey and as they would play our dog Socks would run and chase the puck and it was a race to see if the boys or the dog would get to the puck first. That is how I remember Kevin , runing and playing with our grandson and dog. Kevin loved my sweet tea and would pass up cokes for that. When Kevin moved away we missed seeing his smiling face. Caleb went several times to Athens to see him. I want to express our sadness for the loss of such a fine young man.
