Yup, I’m determined to wrap up the Red Bus Western Alpine Tour images tonight so I can move on to the eastern side of Glacier! Today’s Canada Day and had I not fallen behind, you’d be seeing images of Canada instead … maybe I’ll have them online in time for Independence Day![]()

The Weeping Wall again — complete with sign — as we headed back down to the Lodge. The teeny tiny red speck off to the upper right is where I took several of the images posted yesterday.

Apparantly Jerry didn’t get the memo either about slowing down … thus the blurred rock. What’s with these males flying when I’m trying to photograph out the window?!?!

The tunnel on the Going to the Sun Road! Shame there wasn’t a Red Bus following us so I could duplicate the postcard image I purchased![]()

The McDonald Creek. Yeah, seemed more like a river than a creek to me …

This is the Sacred Dancing Cascade. Might be fun to thrill seekers to river raft — if it were allowed — but you might come out with a broken limb or two. Beautiful, very well named by the Native Americans who used to reside in and come to the area for rituals

And this is where you’d suffer the bodily injuries mentioned above …

Back to calmer waters — the north end of Lake McDonald … off to the left behind the trees a ways is where the Lodge is located. This particular road is actually a private access road for the property owners. Yup, those who owned land in what is now Glacier National Park prior to 1910 had the choice to stay put (it was mostly summer homes). Over time, many of the property owners sold their land to the National Park Service, but several passed down or sold their land to others. So … the point of this is, if you hear of any of those few landowners willing to sell at a reasonable price (cause you know they are able to command whatever price they deem, after all!), lemme know. I could use a summer home in Montana where I’d be left alone for the most part![]()

And … finally, we’re back at the Lodge. Not our bus, however. I just couldn’t end the bus tour without a bus picture, after all! Edited with a vintage effect to change things up (because I can) … btw, especially for the photogs who drop by here, if you look closely at the reflection just below the mirror, that rectangle ‘image’ is actually my Hipslip laptop bag w/ the Festive Shootsac cover. Rather than dragging my Kata camera backpack out on the bus, I swapped my laptop out, dropped in an extra lens, batteries, cards, and a few other assorted items (gum, water, notepad, pen … all but the hothands hand warmers, as I forgot them in the room. Not a smart idea. Even if it was June 20th.).
Tomorrow, images from our journey (via SUV, sadly) to the eastern side of Glacier. And some travel tips should you choose to do the same …
