We all have them — the images where we’re trying to capture one scene and instead, we get something unexpected.
Sometimes those unexpected — or accidental — snapshots turn out to be better than what we had in mind.
Like this one — it was pouring, I was using my chin and right shoulder to keep the umbrella over my head (envision me *propping* it like a telephone), my feet were soaked, as were my jeans nearly to my knee (that’s what I get for wearing flip flops and having to buy average length jeans for my just over petite length legs — and then walking half a mile in the pouring rain) — and I was attempting to shoot full manual (as if I wasn’t already trying to do too many things at once!) and get the phrase pictured in focus. And then he walked into my picture.

Of course, the phrase is blurred (again, trying to do more than I should have been at one moment in time) and he wasn’t paying me any attention until the moment I snapped the image. Because I shot it in RAW format, I just now looked at it for the first time since I captured it two and a half months ago, having completely forgotten all about that moment in time.
This weekend, take a moment or two and look back at those images you ‘accidentally captured’ — sometimes the no so perfect moments are actually quite perfect in retrospect.
(and yes, that is my dad pictured)
