A Fundraiser for Cullen — Please Help!!

Sidenote: This post is a ’sticky’ for the month of July — after reading it, please scroll down to the newest update from Christina McCall Photography. Thanks!

Just over an hour ago, my dear friend April — who was pictured on my post from June 13th (while I was in Colorado Springs) — sent out a text request: Cullen McReynolds, the three year son of one of her coworkers was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and they’re seeking donations to hold a fundraiser to help defray his medical expenses.

I don’t know Cullen, I couldn’t even tell you what this lil cutie looks like. It doesn’t matter. Having had a brief cancer scare myself when I was in the fifth grade and Robby having had a tumor on his foot from the age of 6 months, with the first doctor believing it was cancerous and wanting to cut off part of his foot (thank goodness for second referrals, it was benign and finally removed when he was 19), there is no way I could hesitate in replying to April’s text to volunteer to help.

Update: April sent me this link to his family’s online journal with updates on Cullen’s progress for anyone interested in following along. There is a guestbook for comments as well.

My donation to help Cullen and his family in his fight to beat neuroblastoma is twofold — I’ll be sending in a print order for several of the Colorado images I photographed on my trip along with a few others for them to use in the fundraiser — as well as this — the Cullen Special:

CMP’s current ‘re-grand opening special’ is $100 (booked by the end of the summer, scheduled by the end of 2009) — but I’m opening up my weeknights during the month of July to portrait sessions — since I work in Tyler, book a Monday through Thursday at 5:30 pm on location (downtown, the Rose Garden, the Children’s Park, or one of a couple other park-like locales I love) — or on Friday evenings at 6 pm in Athens (downtown, the TVCC campus, or the East Texas Arboretum) – and half of the $75 creative fee will be donated to the funds raised to help defray Cullen’s medical expenses. To make it easier on me, rather than dealing with adding up an odd amount, I’m rounding that up to $40 for the sake of mulitplication!

So — spread the word — the clock’s a tickin’ and there’s no time to waste … email, use the contact form on the menu above, or call me asap to schedule your session!!

(and thanks in advance for helping out lil Cullen!)

PS … for the curious — the remaining $35 + sales tax of 6.25% will just about all go to Uncle Sam and the State of Texas for income and sales taxes. What is left basically will cover gas to get to your session + a small thank you gift with your print order.
