Pomp and Circumstance | Athens Texas Graduation Photography

Last night my baby brother — okay, he prefers I refer to him as the not so little brother, as we’re now the same height and weight approximately, even if I’m eight years older — graduated from Trinity Valley Community College with his Associate of Arts degree. This fall he’ll transfer on to one of the area universities for degree numero dos (aka the bachelor’s level). Meanwhile, I got to have a *little* fun with him prior to his graduation ceremony …

Meet JC the flamingo. She came with my new Hipslip (laptop bag/case from Shootsac, more on that later!), so I thought it was fitting to have Robby pose with her in his cap and gown. 

And now for the ceremony — Dr. Doug Curran (pictured below) was the commencement speaker and President Glendon Forgey gave a short speech in Japanese that (along with the rest of the ceremony) was streamed via the TVCC website so the exchange students’ families would feel welcomed even though they are half a world away.

And — behind the scenes was one of ROLP’s 2008 clients and a former coworker of mine, Michael (his wife Melinda was there as well — she was seated with all of the instructors and professional staff). I’m sure he’s gonna stop talking us up to everyone once he sees I posted the only shot I managed to snag of him that wasn’t blocked by the video camera!

Finally,  a farewell from the graduating Cardettes …

I will be ‘out of the office’ today — all orders received by 5 pm this evening will be placed tomorrow! Don’t forget to check back late this evening for images taken at Villa de Felicita …
